What do we believe?
Liberty Classical School has a strong ecumenical Statement of Faith that begins with the Apostle’s Creed and includes elements of various other historical confessions. Because we are not governed by any particular church or denomination, we communicate our theological commitments in this Statement of Faith. Parents are required to read and acknowledge this when enrolling their child. Read through our Statement of Faith and contact us with any clarifying questions.
The Apostles’ Creed
We believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*that is, the true Christian church of all times and all places
Statement of Faith Continued
We believe that God makes Himself clearly and fully known through the Holy Scriptures, which are the only inerrant and infallible Word of God, our ultimate and final authoritative rule for faith and practice. (see Westminster Chapter 1)
We believe that there is but one living and true God, eternally existent in three Persons of one power, substance, and eternity—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (see Definition of Chalcedon)
We believe in the true deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, such that two distinct natures, divine and human, were inseparably joined together in one person, without conversion, composition, or confusion.
We believe that in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. We believe that Adam was made from the dust of the ground and formed after God’s image and likeness, which was good, righteous, and holy. (see Westminster Chapter 4)
We believe all mankind is in a state of rebellion against God. For the salvation of such lost and sinful men, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary. We believe that salvation is by grace through faith alone, and that faith without works is dead.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We believe that good works are only those which arise from true
faith, conform to God's Word, and are done for His glory.
We believe God has appointed a day when He will judge the world in righteousness through Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved to the resurrection of life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of damnation.
Affirmations
We affirm that God has designed marriage to be a covenantal, sexual, procreative, lifelong union of one man and one woman, as husband and wife, and is meant to signify the covenant love between Christ and his bride the church. God’s revealed will for all people is chastity outside of marriage and fidelity within marriage.
We affirm that God created us male and female in His image; that gender identity may not be detached from the biological sex of the human body.
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. We are therefore called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

Liberty Classical School is a full-time, private Christian Classical school in Lincoln, NE. We exist to educate children that they may know and love the truth. We partner with parents to establish men and women who glorify God as loyal servants. We equip our students to be formidable adversaries of falsity and all other enemies of God. We believe that the primary end for education is not merely survival, but glory—glory in the truth and Glory to God—the Father, the Spirit and the Son—on Earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.
