January Open House
Please join us on Monday, January 29th for our second Liberty Classical School Open House! We invite you to learn more about Classical Christian Education, preview our curriculum, and get your questions answered. Jim Duncan of Memoria Press (our curriculum provider) is our featured speaker. The event starts at 6:30 PM at Sower Church, 2640 R Street, Lincoln, NE.
Why are we starting a school?
The Liberty Classical School founding families want to share Classical Christian Education with the rest of Lincoln. We believe this is the best education for both academic learning and for discipling our children. We understand the call in Ephesians 6:4 to “raise your children in the discipline and admonition of the Lord” to include all areas of life, especially formal education. As in our Vision Statement:
We exist to educate children that they may know and love the truth. We partner with parents to establish men and women who glorify God as loyal servants. We equip our students to be formidable adversaries of falsity and all other enemies of God. We believe that the primary end for education is not merely survival, but glory—glory in the truth and Glory to God—the Father, the Spirit and the Son—on Earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.
Who should attend Open House?
Anyone! Our Open House is for anyone interested in learning more about Liberty Classical School and Classical Christian Education. Even if you came to our first Open House in October, you are still invited. We particularly invite parents and grandparents of students who will be ready for Kindergarten this fall (2024). This event is a great way for parents of prospective Kindergarten students to find out more information and ask their specific questions. Our Open House is also a great opportunity for anyone who has heard of Classical Christian Education and wants to understand it more thoroughly. We hope to see you on January 29th!
What to Expect
Our Open House will feature a presentation by Jim Duncan of Memoria Press. He will explain Classical Christian Education and how it differs from modern, progressive education. Jim will share different information than he did at our first Open House in October, so those who attended then are still welcome to come!
Jim is a retired pastor who led the start of a Classical Christian school in his own hometown of Mount Vernon, IL and now works for Memoria Press as a School Representative. His presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the Liberty Classical School Board. The evening will finish with a curriculum preview and all of our Kindergarten materials will be available for you to peruse.
